Setting up IPTV on Android takes just a few minutes once you know where your playlist comes from. This guide walks you through the whole process in Undaplayer — from your very first playlist to a working TV guide — using plain steps anyone can follow.

Before anything else: Undaplayer is a player, not a content provider. It ships with zero channels. You bring your own source — a subscription you already pay for, or a free public catalog such as iptv-org. The player simply reads and displays what you give it.

What you need before you start

Whichever method you use, you’ll need one of the following from your IPTV source. If you don’t have it yet, ask your provider — every legitimate provider supplies at least one of these:

  • An M3U playlist URL — a single web link ending in .m3u or .m3u8 (sometimes a get.php?... link). This is the most common format.
  • Xtream Codes login details — a server URL, a username and a password. Use this if your provider gave you a login rather than a link.
  • (Optional) An EPG / XMLTV URL — a separate link, usually ending in .xml or .xml.gz, that adds the TV programme guide.

Not sure which one to pick? Our M3U vs Xtream Codes guide explains the difference in plain language.

Method 1 — Add an M3U playlist

This is the fastest way to get started if your provider gave you a link.

  1. Open Undaplayer and go to ProfilesAdd profile.
  2. Choose M3U playlist.
  3. Give the profile a name (e.g. the provider’s name) so you can tell your sources apart later.
  4. Paste your M3U URL into the playlist field. If you have a local .m3u file instead, use the file picker to select it from your device.
  5. Tap Save. Undaplayer downloads and parses the playlist — large lists may take a few seconds.

Your channels now appear under Live, grouped automatically by category. You’re ready to watch.

Method 2 — Connect with Xtream Codes

Use this when your provider gave you a login rather than a single link. Xtream Codes also unlocks Movies and Series sections when your provider offers them.

  1. Go to ProfilesAdd profileXtream Codes.
  2. Enter the server URL exactly as provided, including http:// or https:// and the port number if there is one (e.g. http://example.com:8080).
  3. Enter your username and password.
  4. Tap Save. Undaplayer connects and pulls your Live, Movies and Series catalogs automatically.

Type the server URL carefully. A missing port or an extra / at the end is the number-one cause of “connection failed” errors. Copy and paste whenever you can.

Add a TV guide (EPG / XMLTV)

An EPG (Electronic Programme Guide) shows what’s on now and next for each channel. With Xtream Codes the guide is often included automatically. For M3U playlists you usually add it separately:

  1. Open the profile you just created and find the EPG / TV guide field.
  2. Paste your XMLTV URL (ends in .xml or .xml.gz).
  3. Save. Undaplayer downloads the guide and refreshes it in the background on a schedule.

Troubleshooting common issues

Symptom Likely cause & fix
“Connection failed” on Xtream Wrong server URL, missing port, or expired account. Re-check the URL character by character and confirm your subscription is active.
Playlist loads but no channels show The M3U link may be empty or expired. Open the link in a browser — if it downloads an empty or error file, contact your provider.
Channels buffer or freeze Usually a network or source-server issue, not the app. Try Wi-Fi vs mobile data, and switch the player engine (ExoPlayer ↔ VLC) in Settings.
TV guide is empty The EPG URL is missing or the channel IDs in the playlist don’t match the guide. Add the XMLTV URL and let it finish downloading.
A channel won’t play but others do That specific stream is offline on the provider’s side. Nothing the player can fix — try again later.

Frequently asked questions

Does Undaplayer come with channels?

No. Undaplayer is a neutral player with no channels, streams or content of its own. You add your own M3U playlist or Xtream Codes login.

Can I add more than one source?

Yes. Create a separate profile for each source and switch between them at any time.

M3U or Xtream Codes — which should I use?

If your provider gave you a single link, use M3U. If they gave you a server, username and password, use Xtream Codes (it also adds Movies and Series). See the full comparison.

Do I need to pay for Undaplayer?

The player is free to use. Whether your content source is free or paid depends entirely on the provider you choose — that part is up to you.
